FOUNDATION

Six concepts behind responsible Ayurvedic manufacturing

Each topic connects search-friendly education to a real manufacturing or quality process instead of creating thin keyword pages.

01

Ayurveda as a knowledge system

Ayurveda is a traditional Indian system of health knowledge. On a responsible commercial website, educational Ayurveda content should stay separate from unverified disease-treatment promises and should point users to approved labels or qualified professional guidance where appropriate.

02

Herb identity before production

A common herb name is not enough for manufacturing control. Botanical identity, plant part, supplier documentation, inward checks and traceable lot records help reduce raw-material mix-ups before a batch begins.

03

From raw material to batch record

A manufacturing batch links approved formulation or BOM data, issued material lots, process steps, in-process checks, quality review, yield and finished-stock identity. Traceability matters as much as the visible pack.

04

Dosage forms and pack decisions

Syrups/liquids, tablets, capsules, churna/powders, oils and pak/granules have different processing, packaging and costing requirements. Quantity, container, label and secondary packing can materially change per-unit economics.

05

Quality before release

Raw-material checks, in-process controls and finished-product review should be documented in a controlled quality workflow. Product-specific specifications and release decisions belong to authorised records—not improvised website claims.

06

Third-party and private-label planning

A useful manufacturing enquiry should state dosage form, pack, approximate quantity, target market and branding requirement. The final formula, label, MOQ, price and documentation route require review before confirmation.

HERBAL RAW-MATERIAL GLOSSARY

Common herb names need controlled identity

These are educational identity references, not medical-use claims. Product-specific composition must follow the approved formulation and label documentation.

HERB REFERENCE

Ashwagandha

Withania somnifera

Identity, plant part and incoming material documentation should be confirmed before formulation use.

HERB REFERENCE

Shatavari

Asparagus racemosus

Raw-material identity and quality specifications should be matched to the approved product/formulation record.

HERB REFERENCE

Tulsi

Ocimum tenuiflorum

Herbal raw material handling should preserve traceability from supplier lot through the production batch.

HERB REFERENCE

Amla

Phyllanthus emblica

Amla may appear in different traditional formulations; manufacturing records should define the exact approved material specification.

HERB REFERENCE

Giloy / Guduchi

Tinospora cordifolia

Common names can vary by region, which is why botanical and material identity controls are important.

HERB REFERENCE

Punarnava

Boerhavia diffusa

Supplier qualification, plant-part identity and quality review help make herbal sourcing more controlled.

HERB REFERENCE

Haritaki

Terminalia chebula

Traditional names should be tied to the approved material master and lot-level traceability in manufacturing.

HERB REFERENCE

Bibhitaki

Terminalia bellirica

Material specifications should define the accepted identity and quality parameters for production use.

HERB REFERENCE

Neem

Azadirachta indica

Different plant parts are not interchangeable; the approved raw-material specification should state what is intended.

HERB REFERENCE

Turmeric / Haldi

Curcuma longa

The material master and inward records should identify the received material consistently before issue to production.

EDUCATIONAL USE

Knowledge content is not a substitute for statutory product information.

Health, composition, dosage, indication and precaution information should be taken from the approved product label/documentation and qualified professional guidance where applicable. This knowledge centre focuses on manufacturing literacy, traceability and responsible communication.
